Overview:
This project expanded my knowledge on many topics, from open world design, to stealth design, combat design and cover placement.
I researched games from Metal Gear Ground Zeroes, to Deus Ex for stealth design, and extensively analysed Far Cry 5 outposts.
It is set in a sprawling scrapyard that has been taken over by the cult of Father John. Far Cry 5 outposts all have a distinctive pre-cult takeover identity, in which the combat scenarios are built upon. By using a scrapyard, I was able to create unique structures that could be narratively made by the cult in a short amount of time, due to its close proximity to major transportation roots, and tools available in the scrapyard.
This enabled me to explore many ideas and utilise the theme to its fullest, from crawling through industrial pipes, to weaving through cars for stealth.
